- A dedicated student of leadership, Claudius advises CEOs, CHROs and boards on how to accelerate and enhance CEO performance. He recently co-authored The Life Cycle of a CEO, the product of an unprecedented study of the performance patterns of every twenty-first century CEO of the S&P 500 and 100 in-depth interviews revealing the distinctive stages of the life cycle of a CEO.
- Claudius is a regular contributor to Harvard Business Review, and his work is frequently cited in the Wall Street Journal, Fortune, Forbes and Financial Times, among many others. He has repeatedly presented to the G100 CEOs and at top tier CEO, human resources and industry events. His work on mindsets and social networks was awarded “Best Article” by the Academy of Management.
- Prior to joining Spencer Stuart Claudius was a member of Boston Consulting Group’s CEO Advisory, serving clients across industries on leadership, strategy and organizational culture. Earlier in his career, Claudius served as founder and strategic adviser to several early-stage businesses in Germany, China and the U.K.
Claudius earned his Ph.D. and M.Phil. in management from Columbia Business School, where his research has shaped his leadership theories. He holds a coaching certificate from the Neuroleadership Institute and integrates cutting-edge neuroscience into his approach. Fluent in German, English and Mandarin, Claudius has studied six languages and exemplifies a lifelong dedication to learning and global understanding. Claudius is the proud parent of three budding artists and explorers (ages 8 and 4).
